Polymeric materials have become more and more important in the recent years and they are going to excert a greater influence on the progress in micro- and
nanotechnology as well. Processing, characterizing, simulating, testing and evaluating polymeric materials themselves and in connection with other materials
is one of the main challenges for innovative technological applications from macro- to nanoscale. Stress, strain, interface and long-term behavior, and
reliability aspects have to be taken into account.
This issue no. 11 of MM&NM contains about 60 Extended Abstracts of papers presented at the conference. This special volume is edited by the conference chair
Prof. Monika Bauer from Fraunhofer PYCO. Following her intentions, the readers will find sufficient space in the booklet to make their annotations during
the conference and, in this way, to facilitate individual sustainability of the conference’s participation.
